The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection has issued a Code Red Air Quality Action Day for Fine Particulates in New Jersey (and all of Monmouth County), until midnight EDT Thursday night. An Air Quality Advisory means that air quality within the region may approach or exceed unhealthy standards.
People with heart or lung disease, older adults, children and teens should:
- Avoid strenuous outdoor activities.
- Limit outdoor activities.
- Consider moving physical activities indoors or rescheduling them.
Everyone else should:
- Choose less strenuous activities (like walking instead of running) so you don’t breathe as hard.
- Limit outdoor activities.
