The Court Offices in Bradley Beach also serve the communities of Allenhurst, Avon by the Sea, and Neptune City as part of our shared services agreements.
Mission Statement:
The Municipal Court is an independent branch of government constitutionally entrusted with the fair and just resolution of disputes in order to preserve the rule of law and to protect the rights and liberties guaranteed in the Constitution and the laws of the United States and this State.
The Bradley Beach Municipal Court is a quasi-criminal court of limited jurisdiction. The Court hears petty disorderly person offenses, disorderly person offenses, Weights and Measures infractions, SPCA violations, Fish & Game violations, Local Ordinances, as well as all traffic offenses.
Adjournment Policy:
In order for your case to be adjourned, you must contact the court office the week (7 days) before your scheduled appointment.
We DO NOT adjourn cases the week of court, unless there is a true emergency, and documents are provided.
Violation Payments:
Acceptable forms of payment to the court are cash, checks, credit/debit card and money orders.
Payments made in person can be made Monday thru Friday, 9:00 am until 3:30 pm excluding observed holidays or other observances where the Borough Offices are closed. The borough drop-box outside of the court office door can be utilized after hours for those who are unable to make payments during operating hours. Please include the town code, prefix and your ticket# so the payment is applied to the correct account. (1301-Allenhurst, 1306-Avon by the Sea, 1308-Bradley Beach, 1335-Neptune City).
Payments made in person at the court office can only be made using cash (exact change preferred), check or money order.

VIRTUAL COURT
Our court sessions are held both Virtually and In-Person. Virtual Court is the SAME as IN-Person Court.
The Judiciary, specifically municipal courts in the months following the pandemic, have changed the way a court session is conducted. Most court sessions can be heard virtually with the exception those that may have a “consequence of magnitude”.

NOTIFICATION OF RIGHTS: If you attended court in person, the Judge would advise you of your rights as a defendant in the Municipal Courts of New Jersey. These rights are available online for you to watch. You are required to take a few minutes to view the video.

If you are indigent and wish to be represented but cannot afford an attorney, please call the court to request a public defender application form, and one will be emailed to you or use the form indicated above and email it to the Court Administrator. Once it is returned to the court, the Judge will review the information, and you will be advised if you qualify for the Public Defender.
